Get Me Job

Describe a situation where you found yourself dealing with an individual who did not like you. How did you handle it?

A difficult thing to accept in life is the fact that some people will dislike you no matter how you are or behave. The reasons for someone disliking you may be unfair, though when it has been evident, I have sought out the colleagues or team members of the person who has shown a dislike for me and sought to make friends with people in this group. By building a good reputation with colleagues, my hope has been for the name person to have a difference of opinion about me.
By targeting directly those colleagues having a large influence on the person who has shown a dislike for me, the hope is that peer pressure can eventually change the perceptions of this certain person.

Another tactic I employ involves trying to find things I like about the person by making a
list of their strengths and weaknesses.

This allows me the comfort to feel positive towards this certain person and help ease some of the tension/friction between us and deal with tricky situations.

By taking charge and controlling elements of communication with this person, the aim is always to improve the situation and relationship.

Overall, when I have encountered these situations, I have used the relevant steps and ultimately have always seen progress which in turn has helped boost my confidence allowed me to communicate better within teams and groups.
