Describe a situation in which you effectively developed a solution to a problem by combining different approaches

Within business and the working environment, there are certain complex processes and systems, and it is rarely possible to understand all aspects of a given problem. I have always chosen to work amongst fellow colleagues and employees amongst other stakeholders in the management of processes to significantly reduce the likelihood of key issues/problems being overlooked.

By allowing colleagues to use their creativity to try and resolve problems, the general outcome has generated solutions that would not have been uncovered if only small teams or individuals had been involved.

Those colleagues outside the working process have different, and often unique views of the problem at hand. Part of my role, as a team leader and manager is to harness the perspective of these persons to create a solution.

By sharing information within a team environment, this ultimately helps develop solutions to problems, and I have always been very focused on encouraging this collaborative environment.

Keeping an open mind, encouraging the creativity of employees, helps to understand problems, in turn the rewards and benefits are significant.

A good solution to a problem is seen, a larger sense of team environment and improved morale as colleagues see their ideas adding value to the department and in turn, the company
