Kennel Workers Personal Statement
I have always been enthusiastic about animals
due to the fact that since I was a child I have always had cats and dogs as
pets. I enjoy interacting with animals and learning how each animal is different
and working on building good relationships with them. I am a very caring individual
and I care for every animal that I have ever dealt with. I treat them how they
should be treated and I ensure that the environment, which they are in, is friendly
but also controlled. Setting up the facilities for the animals and maintaining
cages, runs and grounds is something that I enjoy as I can see the joy it brings
to the animals.
I possess a lot of confidence when handling animals and can detect any sort
of change in behaviour, which could indicate that something is wrong. I enjoy
being active and in my spare time I walk a lot and attend the gym so I would
have no issues coping with the physical demands of walking the dogs and cleaning
the kennels. I am a very hand on individual and enjoy working hard and I will
turn my hand to any task that is asked of me. Communicating well is also something
I take pride in, I have a great telephone manner and I am a people person, so
dealing with customers would not be an issue at all.
I have a diploma in Animal Care and Animal Management and this qualification
has given me the skills and knowledge required to carry out the role.
